Hi Guys, I’m a Physics major but can’t decide between the two. I’m an international student so I can’t go visit the campuses to see which one I like better. But any particular reason to prefer one over the other? One thing I am concerned about is the party life at UCSB and the lack of student activity/the fact that UCSD can get kind of boring.
UCSB is ranked #11 globally for undergraduate physics by U.S. News & World Report. Currently 3 Nobel Prize winners teaching in the physics department. One of the best physics programs. Out of the UCs, only UCB ranks higher. My son is currently finishing his second year as a physics major at UCSB. He loves the program. It is a very difficult program and the lower division courses are “weeder” classes. There are opportunities to work on research projects as an undergraduate student.
@tasmom Is your son in the CCS programme by any chance? and what makes it better??
@CG6475, no he is not. Heard the CCS physics program is amazing.
