UCSB out of state

what sort of stats do i need to get into ucsb if im out of state??

You need atleast a 4.0+

The average gpa of the people that applied was 3.9 last year. However they still accept a large range of people, but you will need atleast a 4.0 UC gpa to be competitive.

so if my gpa from 10-11 is 4.0uw, what else would i need?

Well their sat is around 1850.....so I would go for 2000+ just to be safe

i'm an out-of-stater and i had a 4.3ish gpa and a really bad sat and act score (i think i got 1400ish and a 25 on act). as long as you complete the a-g courses with decent grades i think you should be okay.

wait, 1400 on new sat or old one?? also, i have a 4.0uw so how do i know what my weighted gpa is because my school doesn't weigh our grades.

They count grades 10 and 11 only. They also don't use classes like pe or health when determining your gpa. Only A-G courses.

They weight up to 8 semesters of ap/honors/ib classes.

If your still not sure, post your grades from 10th and 11th grade only and I can figure it out for you.

Hey, can you figure out my UC GPA too? I've always been kind of curious, but I never really understood the system. 8 semesters of extra points for honors/AP classes, yet they only count grades 10 and 11...? Here are my stats:

Soph year:
Algebra II/Trig Honors A A
Chemistry I Honors B A
English II Honors A A
Spanish III Honors B B
World History Honors A A
Sociology (regular) A A

Junior year:
English Composition AP B A
US History Honors A A
Calculus AP B A
Spanish IV AP B A
Physics I Honors A A
Cybercorp (regular) A A

Total honors/AP classes in H.S.: 17 (34 semesters)

Thank you!!!!!

Okay well I don't think they will count Cybercorp (What is that?)....So I'm pretty sure your UC GPA is 4.09

Good stuff... my eligibility calculator put me at 232. I don't have any idea what that means, but I was admitted, heh heh. And cybercorp is a computer technician class -- basically, we ran around the school and fixed **** that had problems.

damn...my high school doesn't have any Honor classes that is real honor class that UC add additional GPA. We only have AP classes...that sucks...

My school doesnt offer honors or AP classes until junior year by the way...

10th
Spanish III - A, A
World Lit - A, A
World History - A, A

Thanks a lot!!

You should get into UCSB with those grades.... Your UC GPA is 4.18

could someone help me calculate my UC gpa?

10th Grade
1. Geometry: A/A
2. Spanish 2: A/A
3. Basic Art: A/A
4. Honors English: A/A
5. Biology: A/A
6. Honors US History: B/B

11th Grade

2. Spanish 3: A/B
3. Honors World History: A/A
4. Newswriting: A/A
5. Honors English: A/A
6. Honors Chemistry: A/B

Thanks! =D

I don't know if they count honors english (10th), honors us history, or honors world history, but I may be wrong.

3.88 - I think this your uc gpa, but if they count the classes i listed above it will only improve.

If they atleast count one more of those classes you will have a 3.96.

But if they count all or 2 more you will max out at 4.04.

oo yay. thanks!

hey also, with my grades above you said i'd probably get into UCSB but what about UCLA or berkeley? any chances there?

Your gpa is around there average so you definately have a shot. They will be reaches for you, but I would go for it.

Are you interested in UCSD, bc you also have a chance there
