does any one knows the class requirement for physics transfer to UCSB? I'm a freshmen that hasn't taken any major classes for transfer yet and would to have realistic time frame for transfer. Any only information would also be nice.

1 year of Calc
1 year of Gen Chem (or at least 2 quarters or classes worth)
1 year of Gen Physics
1 additional year of Physics
1 year of Physics labs
and if interested
1 year of Astronomy which they offer a great minor in
plus 7(to 11) course GE breadth (9-11 being a year of Western Civ which UCSB likes)

Since you haven’t taken anything, it would most likely be 2-3 years. 2 years if you want to get as soon as possible (assuming you have a really good GPA) or 3 years if you want to save some money (and assuming you finished all prereqs and have above a 3.0 GPA).

PS. I hear the Stephen Hawkings is there all the time doing some pretty gnarly research and guest lectures or something of that kind.
