UCSB reception honoring top applicants CLASS OF 2019

@nutthins

Did they also announce Regents at the reception?

Got one, in the Bay Area. Does this guarantee honors?

Also the website for RSVP seems to be down haha

I got the same letter in the mail today. Guess I’m in. <:-P

@Onederlander‌ Yes, I just got mine today!

The invite does not guarantee honors nor does it reference regents. Regents and honors are done through separate correspondence.

Do international applicants receive this invitation? I’m a california resident but not a permanent resident.

Posted on another thread as well: My child also received an invite in the mail. Apparently to RSVP for the reception there is some sort of ID number you need, which the website says is included in an invitation “email.” We received the invite in the mail, but not an “email” with any confirmation number. And the hard copy of the invite does not include an ID. Does anyone have info about this? Thanks and best wishes to all.

@nutthins How was the food at the reception? this is a serious question.

@beatstanford‌ you need the so-called “perm-id” which your child should have received when they acknowledged his/her application. It is the one that is required to login to the UCSB portal.

This number was not provided on my mailed invitation, and I never received any email.

The ID number is the permanent ID number that UCSB emailed to your child when they confirmed that they received his/her application.

@barca101 the “food” consisted of desserts, mostly cookies and pastries.

is it very formal? What did you guys wear :0

@beatstanford‌ if you go through your email and find the one that confirms they received your application, there will be a number called the “perm-number” - it should be in red text.

Is it formal attire?

At the Orange County reception, students dressed casual or more dressy-casual than anything. Definitely not a formal event.

Did these invites go to everyone across the country? I’m in the midwest, and I’m wondering if I should still be watching the mailbox at this point haha

I don’t think the invites go out to everyone. Way too many! But if you live near where one of the receptions will be held, then I think you would get one. If you get one, you should RSVP as soon as possible as they cannot accommodate everyone especially in the more populous regions.

Ohhh ok cool! Yeah I doubt a reception is gonna be near me in central Illinois, so I won’t fret about it

when did UCSB send out regents last year?

Has anyone from San Diego gotten an invite?
