Just got the packet! I also know one of my friends, who goes to the same school as me, got regents as well.
I got it too! I also got regents at Irvine, but not at Berkeley.
@aryastarks @aniveera do you guys mind sharing your stats? I’m curious to see how selective this is compared to say UCLA Regents or UCLA/Berkeley general admissions.

@Skarlo 4.0 UW UC GPA, 4.3 W (we aren’t allowed to take AP’s until junior year)
34 ACT and scores in the upper 700’s on some SAT II’s
My extracurriculars aren’t super strong, but I thought that my essays were great. A bunch of my friends got Regents at UCSB and none that I know of got it at Berkeley. I didn’t apply to UCLA though, but I assume I probably wouldn’t have gotten it.
Will be hard for you to tell from one or two people’s stats. From the UCSB Regents Scholar website:
“All freshmen admitted for the fall quarter at UCSB are considered for the Regents Scholarship, based on their UC Application for Admission. No additional information is required. UCSB typically offers the scholarship to students within the top two percent of admitted freshmen. Students are notified by U.S. Mail in early March if they have been selected.”
