UCSB Rescind??

I recently got a D in my AP Physics C: class for my the first semester. Will my UCSB offer of admission be rescinded even if I have already met the Laboratory Sciences A-G requirement? my major is Economics and Accounting and I will receive a better grade for the second semester.

Your provisional admission contract should spell out what is expected of you to maintain your acceptance.

In general for the UC’s, a Weighted GPA of 3.0 with no D’s or F’s Senior year. Your D will be an issue so you need to contact admissions ASAP and find out what you can do to keep your acceptance. Regardless if you have already met the Laboratory science a-g course requirements, you are still required to keep your grades up Senior year.

No UC likes to rescind acceptances, so be proactive and see if UCSB will wait until you have completed 2nd semester with a C or higher to be met your provisional admission contract. Also, if you had a D 1st semester, you were required to notify all UC’s about the deficient grade. Since it seems like you did not???, then they may not be as understanding.

From the UC website:
Freshmen: If you change schools, add or drop a course, or fail to earn a C or better in a course after you submit your application, you must notify the UC Application Center by email or postal mail. Your correspondence must include your name, UC Application ID number and your signature (if you mail a letter), and will be available to all the campuses to which you applied.

If you receive an offer of admission, be sure to confirm with the campus admission office that they are aware of the deficient grade or schedule changes. Although you must notify the campus of these changes, we cannot guarantee that a campus can go back to review an application after correspondence has been received. Make sure to save a copy of your correspondence just in case.

Update: I called and UCSB directed me to my admissions counselor, she explained to me that due to my good record, the D in AP Physics C: Mechanics will not be an issue

Note: I received a C second semester which also helped me and showed admissions that I am a resilient student.

Always, thank you for the advice @Gumbymom

Greatvnrws and best of luck
