UCSB School of Engineering Subject Tests

I was told that if I don’t submit Math Level II to UCSB, they’ll default to my SAT math. If my SAT math is 750 and math level 2 is 710, is it even worth it to submit the subject test? And for the science subject test, in what range of scores would it be beneficial to submit?

UCSB’s stance on SAT subject tests:

My take on the SAT subject tests is that good scores (700+) can help but one bad score will not hurt especially if your regular SAT Math score is a 750. Recommended by the UC’s means unless their are some compelling circumstances preventing you from taking the exams, submit the score. You will not be denied based on your SAT Subject Math score only.

Thanks for the response! I just got a Biology E subject test score of 670, and was wondering if that’s still acceptable to submit.

The College of Engineering only recommends the Math 2 subject test. I would not submit the Bio E score.

SAT math 2 is pretty important. I would suggest sending another science related subject tests if applying to engineering.
