I got it, but I’m an out of state applicant, so I can’t go
:(

I got it, but i don’t know if I can go by myself, because my parents work =T

I got accepted but I didn’t get an overnight offer. Is there an admit student day?

Do you have more information on this?!?!
I need it!
I guess I might be able to fly down by myself and go.
Thank you!!

Is there a stay-over program for people who aren’t black or chicano/latino?

you dont have to be black or chican@/latin@ to stay on those floors, it’s just hosted by those floors

is there an overnight program if you weren’t invited to this one?

i’m not sure, but orientation is gonna involve staying overnight.

there are also informal stay overs: find a friend/friend of a friend who goes to UCSB and ask to stay a couple days or something

^Yeah, how did they choose who to invite to this?

me and friend from the same hs got this. We’re both asian and live in la about 1& 1/2 away from sb.

Maybe I didn’t get one because I live in SB county?

indyofWA, what state are you from, b/c the only reason I wouldnt go to ucsb is because I am from oos, and be alienated or something

I’m from Washington.
Man UCSB is amazing, and you’re gonna be living in a dorm, with other people, so you’re not really going to be alienated unless you live under the blankets in your bed. We are all starting out the same down there, so everyone’s gonna be thinking and acting the same. It’s gonna be fine man, don’t even worry.

and just wondering, when ou got the acceptance packet/envelope, was their stuff in there for finaid? I cant tell if i am getting nothing, or if they haven’t calculated it…

^Fin aid stuff will be on the website starting April.

is it possible to go to this with out your parents? because my parents have the night shift at work so its not possible for them to go.

do you not know anyone at ucsb? if you do, you can ask them if you can stay over for a couple days and you can follow them around as they go through their classes which i think will give a better idea of a typical students day than something the school is hosting

No, i do not know anyone at ucsb. So thats why I really want to go to the overnight stay.
