UCSB students! Are there alot of Korean stores neary by that school?!

Hi, I'm a Korean international student who's recently been accepted to UCSB yay! :)
Anyways, I've been accepted to other UCs but UCSB interests me the most.
But there's still one factor that bothers me.

Are there any Korean shops or retaurants near by that school?
I'm asking this because I also got accepted to UC Riverside and
diamond bar was just 30 minutes away by car.

There were sooo many Korean stuff in diamond bar that I was really surprised.
Korean supermarkets, video shops, bookstores, hair salon, clothes store etc..
It was almost like being back in Korea.

I want to stay close to the Korean community like diamond bar so I won't get homesick,
but I doubt UCSB has that sort of large Korean community nearby since I've heard not many asians live there, let alone Koreans.

Thinking about the beeeeeeautiful campus I so want to go to UCSB..
but UCR's can-get-Korean-things-just-30minutes-away merit is just too hard to resist.

So if you live in Santa Barbara or is a student at ucsb
could you fill me in with some details?
I would really appreciate it!! :)

Put the address of the main building at UCSB into Google, and then search for it with Google Maps. Once the map appears on the screen, to the left of that image there will be a link that reads “search nearby”. Click on that link, and type in “Korea”. You should get a list of any businesses in the area with Korea in the name. I’d suggest contacting the Korean churches in the area first. The church ladies will know everything!

You’d better have other good reasons to go to UCR than proximity to the Korean community.

I’m also a korean student accepted to SB and was sort of wondering the same thing!

Choosing a college is a personal decision, and only you know what’s truly important to you. If this is the deal-breaker for UCSB, so be it.

Your options are going to be more limited than the greater-LA area, but here are a few places in Isla Vista and Goleta:

[Santa Barbara Restaurants - Korean](Restaurants: Korean - SantaBarbara.com)

Stop by the UCSB forum if you’d like more info:
