<p>Are most students welcoming? I know most students at UCSb are white, and since I am Indian, I feel as if it will be harder for me to make friends? Please let me know about your experiences!</p>
<p>I don’t currently go to UCSB, but I visit IV quite often and, from my experience, people are very welcoming. I’m also Indian and, i’ve learned, the best way to “fit in” is to not think of yourself as different.</p>
<p>you might fair better if you stop thinking of yourself as different and just tried being a person. “white” people are a large large group of many many different types of people. and to somehow imply that they are prejudice is more a statement about your own prejudices , intolerances and insecurities.</p>
