UCSB TAG Decision was posted....

Dear Carol,

Thank you for submitting a Transfer Admission Guarantee (TAG) to UC Santa Barbara for fall 2011. You will be notified of your TAG and official admit status between March 15th and May 1st. We are pleased that you’re considering joining our community of academic scholars and want to take this opportunity to remind you of some important information regarding your transition to the university.

First, although you have submitted a TAG application, you must also file an application for
admission to UCSB for the fall 2011 term during the UC application filing period of November 1-30th. If you have not already begun working on the application, it is available at www.universityofcalifornia.edu/apply.

You will receive an email confirming receipt of your UC admission application in December. It is important that you respond to all inquires and requests for updated information to ensure your application moves as quickly as possible through the evaluation process.

Next, make sure you complete any remaining requirements for the UCSB Transfer Admission Guarantee. Assuming you meet all conditions, your admission to the University is guaranteed. If for any reason, you are unable to meet the conditions; an offer of admission will depend on your completion of transfer admission requirements and competitiveness in the applicant pool. Students who do not meet all TAG criteria may still be competitive for admission to UCSB.

As a transfer student, your goal should be to complete your degree and graduate within two years. For that reason, it is vital that you learn about your major early on and complete as many lower division preparation courses as possible prior to transfer. Information about major preparation can be found at Welcome to ASSIST. You may also wish to come to campus for a guided tour. Tours of UCSB are offered Monday-Friday at noon and 2 p.m. More information about visiting campus can be found at www.admissions.ucsb.edu/VisitUCSB.

UCSB has much to offer you, and we look forward to your becoming a part of our vital educational community. We look forward to seeing you in fall 2011!
