UCSB TAG - Major Pre-Req Question

My son is in his first year at a California cc and is looking to TAG UCSB this coming September as a History major. He will have completed IGETC by end of Fall 2021 and will have his AA-T in History by end of Spring 2022. He will have the 60 units he needs by end of Spring 2022 also. Currently has a 4.0 GPA.

Question is regarding the History major pre-reqs listed by UCSB. There are 3 of them. He will have the first one complete after this semester. The second pre-req is for one specific course that does not have an articulated course at his cc. The third pre-req is for a course outside of US or European history. His cc has only one course sequence that is articulated for this pre-req and it isn’t being offered this coming fall. He is taking other history classes that will cover a fair amount of the actual major requirements at UCSB, but will be missing these 2 specific pre-reqs. Can he just take those when he gets to UCSB? The TAG document for UCSB says he does not need all pre-reqs complete for a History major, so hoping this won’t hold him up at all. There is just not much that articulates over aside from the basic US and World History sequences (we have used Assist.org to gather all this info).

Not quite sure if my experience with ucd would help but I’ll post it anyway
I tagged ucd’s wildlife, fish, and conservation bio with only one lower division coursework done at the time of applying for TAG. (It is one of those really scienc-y majors so it prob has more than 10 lower division courses). By the end of this spring, I would have 3 lower div classes done, and I have already been accepted into davis.
In short, I didn’t finish all major pre-req/low division courses and still TAGed and got in

You’re son should be able to get those required classes at other CC. You can enroll in multiple CCs and since everything is online it is really easy to right now. I would recommended taking one over summer at a nearby CC and then taking the other one in the Fall at a nearby community college. You’ll be able to take both courses online, so the distance of the other CC will not be an issue

I suggest asking UCSB directly. According to the page Transfer Admission Guarantee | Undergraduate Admissions
