Hi, I tagged for UCSB this fall for econ/accounting however I took 18 units that semester and had some family troubles which caused me to receive a D in calc 1. Right now I’m taking business calc in order to meet their math requirement; since I can’t finish both calc 1 and 2 in one semester. Because of this mishap is my TAG rescinded? Also if my TAG is rescinded, do I still have a good chance of making it to UCSB? I applied with a 3.6 gpa and now have a 3.5 gpa this spring but I have all A’s in my prereq classes. Also even though I failed calc 1 I still have a transferable math class prior to fall if that helps at all. Please and thank for your help!

Your TAG might be voided, but you could still be considered for regular admission.
Simply by not having the math req completed by fall, you are ineligible for UCSB TAG. This happened last year to my daughter.
She was taking math req last term and UCSB advisors told her she would even be denied as a regular UNLESS there was a math class with a letter grade somewhere on her transcript, even remedial. She had Int Algebra, so got in.
Just because you are not eligible for TAG, you are still rolled over to regular. And it seems you have a math class.
BTW, when you said math req, I assumed you meant the UC requirement, and not a major req.
@lindyk8 I have pre calc done during the summer so I do have a transferable math class prior to fall. However, I didn’t pass calc 1 during the fall 
Yeah, I saw that. Just out of curiosity why didn’t you retake Calc 1 to get rid of the D? I guess because you want to get your req completed. Tough call because that D will most likely factor in. Was not completing Calc 2 by spring a definite deal breaker?
@lindyk8 I was out of the country during winter so I couldn’t retake during the winter session. Since I couldn’t do both calc 1 and 2 in spring I had no choice but to take business calc so that it would complete my major prereq before I transfer.
Do you guys think even without TAG, I would have a chance to be accepted into UCSB with a 3.5 gpa?
