Nope not trolling. All my friends, after they transferred into their perspective UC’s, had to take a UC-level English course.

did all your friends meet IGETC requirements? you can’t be serious. the classes are considered “uc-transferable.”

why do i need to waste more money taking a third english class at $600 for another class (book, supplies, etc.)

Because since UC is a research school, the writing style are completely different. In other words, its critical and analytical. The writing has to be critical thinking and researched based–not the simple intro-and-conclusion essay we do here at a cc.

And yes, all my friends are IGETC certified.

Call and ask.

@lawl

english offered @ CC is “critical and analytically.” UC can’t be much different. ive learned half a dozen different writing styles. and a 5 on AP english composition.

are you absolutely certain my 2nd english IP for spring will hurt my chances? because ive basically suspending all social activity until May.

All I can testify is that you will need to take another English at a UC once you transfer. Every transfer has to. For the English class being taken in the last semester is what my counselor told me and also used as a suggestion by several UC’s (to finish math and English requirement as soon as possible). Other then that I am not a UC admissions counselor so I won’t if your application would be effected
