Ucsb to ucla

I was going to a community college and have been accepted to UCSB. I really wanted to get into UCLA. If I do go to UCSB for fall 2010, how long do I stay there in order to transfer to UCLA? Is it 1 or 2 years? Should I just stay at a community college and apply again? Who do I talk to about this? Thanks.

From my understanding, you wont be able to transfer because you’ll be considered a jr at UCSB and UCLA explicitly states that they don’t accept Jr Transfers.

So If you really really REALLY want to go to UCLA, I think you would have to stay and wait another year to apply (without taking any classes) that way you can still retain your sophomore standing (I think).

edit:
i wouldn’t recommend it, and you’d have to explain your educational gap in your application
