Does anyone know if you can exceed the 200-216 unit cap for UCSB if you get Deans approval, or is it just a "no" answer for everyone.

Also, does anyone know how good the placement is for UCSB students into medical school?

I don’t know if this applies but there’s like a 70 unit cap for transfer students and if you get like 76, they’ll just ignore/not count the 6 units since it has nothing to do with your major or its extra. Not sure if its the same though but that seems most reasonable.
As for pre-med, we’re focused mainly on undergraduates so we’ll be good for that. You can apply to work as EMT since I believe we’re the UC with our own paramedic rescue unit and there’s also the cottage hospital you can intern at. Free bus rides there

If some of those units came from AP credit then they don’t count towards any limits (when to declare major, max you can get undergrad, etc). You can confirm this by doing a web search on the UCSB site.

My dad went to UCSB as an undergrad and was accepted into tons of medical schools. (I’m not sure how many, but I think it was at least 20) He ended up receiving the School of Medicine Medal at UC Davis, did his internship and residency at UCLA and fellowship in GI at UCSD.

He was a double literature/Bio major at UCSB and loved the school.
