UCSB vs Cal Poly SLO for microbiology

So, I'm completely stuck between these two schools. I have two very good friends going to each of these schools but I am waitlisted to SLO. I'm wondering if it's worth the hassle (if I get in) to lose the deposit at UCSB and switch to SLO. I know SLO is more hands on and stronger in its sciences than UCSB is but I'm also scared because I'm not 100% sure if I want to do Microbiology and I know it is harder to change your major there because you take major specific classes in your first year. Please help, not sure what I'm going to do, and thanks in advance.

at ucsb you typically wont be taking major specific class unless you have passed the AP tests for certain classes. you will be starting with the physics and gen chem series. for SLO vs UCSB, you have to consider other factors such as location, weather, campus, etc. as well.
