UCSB vs. NYU Stern

I’ve been accepted to two schools so far, UCSB and NYU. As someone interested in investment banking/finance, the obvious choice would seem to be NYU. However, I’ve heard a few negative things about NYU (no campus, no school spirit, etc).

I have also read of people from UCSB getting wall street jobs, as evidenced by this link. http://www.sbfinanceconnection.com/board.php

I am a California resident, and I dig the social life at UCSB.

Thoughts? Suggestions?

It would be easier to get a Wall Street job if you were going to school in New York. NYU is a weird university, though. It’s like it rented office space in some office buildings and holds classes in those.

I think you have a good shot at whatever job from both universities as long as you work for it, UCSB might be better since you seem to be more passionate about that campus and culture, which are really important things.
