Hi everyone, I am an international student from China. : ) This is the first time I put my question in CC and really thanks for help!
I was admitted by several schools like USC UCSB UCI PITTS… and after my first selection like financial burden, I finally choose to attend Pitts or UCSB.(Plus, I am in the waitlist of UIUC College of Engineering, UWMadison, and CWRU)
In my undergraduate years, I will focus on the pre-med track so the honors college in Pitts sounds great to my interests. What’s more, I also wanna get minors in sociology or psychology. However, I did not like the cold weather in Pitts while the weather in California is definitely amazing… And actually I did not really understand how the two schools’ reputation are in the US, so I am still deciding and feel so helpless…QAQ

Any advises are welcomed! Really grateful for your help and suggestions!
plz help!!!
ddl is coming TAT
Plus, there was no difference in cost so financial factor was not a concern between the two.
UCSB definitely has a better rep than pits IMO, it’s ranked #3 UC, and has your majors and minors, I think it is the best choice for the funnest undergrad experience with a great education, also it’s literally steps to the beach and has a great college town nearby !
Pitt is a major research university, #6 nationally in NIH funding, 2015 had about $430mm in NIH grants, 1000 projects. Undergrads easily find research opportunities. For health sciences, Pitt offers alot of experiences and support. There are 4 major hospitals on/near campus. It has no beach or palm trees but typical northeast weather with fall, winter snow, spring and rain. It has been a great fit for my 3 kids who are bioengineers. Campus is integrated with a major city. But yeah, no beach.
And Pitt is called Pitt, not Pits or Pitts or UPitt.
