Where would you go, and why???

UCSB, because its the same party atmosphere but academics are infinitely better.

second that

third that. A degree from UCSB may be better.

San Diego is a much bigger and better city if you like big cities.
If you like smaller cities/towns, go to Santa Barbara.
They're basically the same climate-wise.

I know many people that are 6-7th year at SDSU. Some of it has to do with class selection and the inability for people to get their classes, BUT a lot of it has to do with choice. UCSB will surround you with more academically-inclined people. SDSU DOES have beautiful people though. SDSU isn't even as good as a third tier UC, and UCSB is second; enough said.

UCSB and SDSU have strinkingly similiar 5 year graduation rates now...just curious how a high school student knows so many 6-7th years and please note that they got accepted to the university in 1999, the applications have quadrupled... in addition...the students are much more academically prepared now. Let the past be but the past.

My friends work at Sea World, and they seem more focused on getting paid and moving up that chain than going to school. Of course these are many of the supervisors since they'd have to be older than most of the workers. Sea World does, however, pay for your education, so I guess they're in no rush?

sdsu has much more of a party atmosphere but academically it is not strong -- ucsb has less of a party scene but is more likely to give you a decent education -- so whichever you prefer

UCSB has less of a party scene?? what cave do you live in.

both are huge party schools. ucsb has a smaller campus but right on the cliffs overlooking beach. of course its kinda middle of no where. few shops here and there. sdsu for more of a city person, bigger school, lower academics. and about the 6th-7th year. it doesnt take that long if u try...maybe your friends been working at sea world a lil too much?

UCSB is the no 12 public university in america and their party scene is AMAZING. the beach is awesome and it is, overall, way prettier than san diego. i was about to go there but the dude i would have had as an advisor in ccs was kind of a ditz.

goleta beaches are horrible. SB does have some nice beaches though, I personally prefer san diego beaches. I like the feel of the SDSU campus better, it feels like an italian villa. UCSB has a more modern feel and more sprawled out
