Where would you go and why?

These are my 2 favorite schools and even though I haven't applied to them yet, I still want a better idea of where I would go (assuming i get into both). So hopefully your opinions will help me decide.

UCLA ALL THE WAY!
i got in to both.
i'd say ucla because they're much, much stronger academically.
it really depends on what you want to do, but in just about everything, UCLA is better-respected. not to mention us news ranks them about thrity spots higher.... but that shouldn't make your decision for you.
have you visited? that might help in your decision. ucsb has a gorgeous campus, but is on the beach which may present problems if you tend to procrastinate. ucla is also gorgeous but is in a hideously expensive and very student-unfriendly area so it's really hard to find off-campus housing as an upperclassperson.
i'd pick ucla.
i nearly did.
but because i live in la.... i wanted a change of scenery. so i'm going to wustl, alias washU.

I agree. UCLA has much better academics, a much better reputation, and much better sports, if that makes any difference to you. I haven't visited either of them, but I know some people who have. I've heard that SB's campus is really nice, but there's much more to do in LA if you're not into the beach. SB is also the STD capital.

ucla is so random in its admission process.

SB is also the STD capital.

I still don't understand why uninformed people keep propogating this myth.

UCLA of course

I was accepted to both and chose UCSB because of a lot of factors such as...
*not as competitive as UCLA ( i was tired of the pressure)
*much more friendly campus
*you need a car to travel around the UCLA surroundings, in UCSB everything is more in reach without a car
*UCSB granted me much more financial aid
*I felt much more comfortable in Santa Barbara!

I highly suggest you visit both campuses and a few classes in each one and see where you feel more at home, and pick the place where you would enjoy spending the next 4 years of your life. Do not let Stats or sports be your deciding factor, see where YOU like it best, because believe me, both campuses have a much different feel.

I'd probably choose UCSB for the reasons mentioned above and it just seems more "fun" in general.

UCLA.

But I'm biased.

UCLA for me. great balance in social life and academics. and a bigger variety of choices in the social life aspect to boot.

i'm biased too, of course ;)
