UCSB vs. UCSD undergrad

I am looking towards dental school or doing something in the medical direction at least. I was wondering if it mattered what undergrad school i go to. I know UCSD is very good in research, science, medicine, etc. But I feel like I will not like it there for the lack of fun and how it is “socially dead”. School spirit, sports, and fun is important to me as well as academics. I am hoping to go to UCLA or UCSF for grad school or maybe even as a transfer undergrad student. PLEASE HELP ME.

You should truly go to the school where you feel you’ll be happiest. I’m a UCSB alum, and my roommate went to UCSF after graduation (she’s now an oncologist). She had great undergraduate research opportunities at UCSB, and also found a good balance between working hard and enjoying some downtime. With both being such great schools, and offering terrific undergrad opportunities, it should really come down to personal fit. Best of luck to you!
