Also if this may help the school i go to is self directed and the students work at there own pace and attend seminars and no classes, the school is fairly hard to get into and only the smart graduate haha

BUT MY QUESTION IS WHAT DO U THINK MY CHANCES ARE OF GETTING INTO USC AND UCSB

ALSO TUITION COSTS AND WHICH IS CHEAPER

AND ALSO THE SCHOOLS OVERALL AND THERE ENVIRONMENT

I cannot comment much on admissions. You sound like a very solid candidate, but out-of-state admissions to UC's are tricky. Don't know about USC.

Out-of-state tuition for UCSB is $25,161(plus $11,493 for room and board) and USC tuition is $33,892 (plus $10,144 for room and board). The price different as significant as it is for California residents.

As far as environment goes UCSB is more laid back, has a beach, and more natural beauty. USC is in the middle of south-central LA (high crime rate), but you can enjoy the attractions of the big city. The USC student body is a lot more passionate about sports, particularly football. UCSB is more about their soccer and dont have a division 1 footbal team. Both have equally hot people and party culture in my opinion, except that USC is way more into frats. Though if partying is not your thing, it can be easily avoided.
Choosing one depends on what you want(metropolis or beach) and what you're into.

oh my gosh UCSB sounds like such a better choice, cheaper, ,more laid back, all about there soccer. I think ive almost made my decision.

Can anyone tell me the 2006-2007 applicants like median grades etc etc

Actually when everything is said and done, there is only about a $1000-$2000 difference.

Also, USC is MUCH harder to get into than UCSB. They are both difficult but still USC is a lot more difficult to get in.

what would u say my percentage is of getting into UCSB considering im from Canada etc

get above a 1900 on the SAT's and I will say:

UCSB: 80%
USC: 30%

Again I have no clue what I'm talking about this is just a guess

Wow Jlime, I don't think that he will have an 80% chance getting in to UCSB--ESPECIALLY out of state. It's hard to predict, but I'd say that you have a fair shot...however, it is considerably more difficult to get into a UC if you are not a california resident.
For USC, however, it doesn't matter if you live in Cali. I think you have about the same chance to get into both, but SB is better :P so go there haha.
