Hello, I am a transfer student who applied to UCSB but only got admitted on the waitlist. I was wondering if anyone has a rough idea of my chances to get in on the waitlist or win an appeal. I applied as an actuarial science major and my GPA is a 3.2 after fall and will be a 3.25 after this semester is over. I have completed all major prep except for 2 classes but they say they are recommended and not required. The reason I believe I have a case for an appeal is because of 2 main things, for one, I contacted UCSB and it seems that they have my GPA at a 3.1, I believe I entered a grade incorrectly on my application. Second, the main reason I was not able to complete my last 2 major prep courses was because of an untimely death in the family last year which contributed to me failing a prerequisite course. I did not mention it on my original application because I had already retaken the course and replaced the poor grade. Thank you for anyone who responds.
