Does anyone know anybody that has gotton into UCSB with a low gpa or low sats? Any information is appreciated!!

I’m a current student. I have heard of people who got in with a low GPA or test score as long as their other one is high. My roommate had somewhere around a 3.2 GPA but a 2200 SAT.

UCSB takes extracurriculars into account, but grades and scores are king in the application process. How low are you talking? Plenty of people get in with low GPAs (around 3.5) and low test scores (around 1700), but very few get in with much lower than that.

I have a 3.2 UW and a 3.63 Weighted with a 2190 SAT, would that be good enough to get into UCSB?

I think you have a great chance, especially with those solid SAT scores. I’m not going to say 100 percent though.

I’ve known some students who got in with low GPA or low SAT with a personal story that really stood out and it was the personal story that seemed to tip the scales to get them in.

I think you’re probably in… my school gpa was 3.66 but my UC gpa was 3.8 (did bad in bible classes which didnt count)… and I got in with a 2090. I figure the 100 points SAT that you have on me is probably worth at least the .1 gpa that I have on you, so I’m going to say that you will probably get in. I graduated last year, and a trend I noticed was that they accepted people with lower gpa’s who had high test scores (contrary to say UC Davis which rejected me). I know several people who got in with like a 3.2
