ucsc 3.15 gpa bio major. what are my chances to transfer to ucsb, uci, ucla? What was the transfer gpa like for this year's fall 2010 class? I got rejected with a 2.9 uc gpa last year. Will I have a better shot if i take a year off and apply next year when applications are out again?

I’m pretty sure you might get into UCI’s but that’s it IMO…

And no I don’t think you’ll have better shot if you take a year off.

i meant take a year off cause i have 119.5 credits lol. i alreqady have a 3.15. but i hope it works out if i take a year off and reapply. i want to be closer to home which is la.

i was going to say you have a decent shot at UCSB and UCI but you’re a UC-UC transfer so I would assume your chances are slimmer than a CC transfer.

Isn’t it harder to get into UCI as a Bio major than UCSB Bio?

UCI bio is extremely popular here from what i’ve seen. It might be “impacted” although i’m not too sure about that don’t quote me on that. UC to UC transfer tend to have a harder time they view the GPA as equal from CC and UC so having a low gpa will definitely hurt and you have a lower priority then CC transfers

isnt a 3.15 uc gpa pretty good? its pretty tough to get a 3.0 at a uc

Not really.

Even if 3.15 is a good gpa at UCs they give highest priority to ccc transfers so to admission officers 3.15 might seem low. How many units have you taken at ucsc? If you haven’t taken that many and are seriously hoping to transfer, I’d recommend you to attend a ccc first. But right now I don’t think you have very high chance. Maybe you might get into uci?

119.5 . 0.5 away from cap hahahaha
