I went to UCSC for my freshmen year and earned a 2.98 gpa (proposed bio major). Overtime i realized that I absolutely did not like UCSC at all and so im deciding to go back to community college as a sophomore, but im a bit skeptical whether I still have a chance at UCLA with my 2.98 ucsc gpa.

Would i have a greater chance if i went back to a community college?

As for the other UC's, am i still able to do the TAG program and would I still be able to transfer as a junior?

CC students get priority for UC transfer evaluation, plus it’s easier to do better academically at a CC in my opinion.

Most other UCs accept a TAG despite attending a 4 year.
Only one that comes to mind that doesn’t is UC Irvine.

As for UCLA and a 2.98 your first year…
To put it bluntly, chances are slim especially since biology is impacted and the average GPA to get in is 3.63.
I would suggest trying to pull a 4.0 from now on and doing significant ECs.

If you care about getting into UCLA more than the major…
Perhaps switching into physiological science, molecular biology, microbiology, or biological anthropology would give you a better chance at acceptance (not as impacted) and you would also be able to utilize the bio pre-reqs you’ve already taken.

Make sure you check assist.org, the CC’s IGETC contract, and have at least 60 units and you should be able to transfer right on time.

i did UCSB -> CCC -> UC Berkeley. You will have a greater chance if you go back to community college because you will have priority. As for UCLA, you’re probably not going to get in unless you goto a school with TAP and do the TAP program.
