Every transfer’s orientation is on July 22. I’m considering off campus during my second year. The village is pretty cheap so that’s where I’m considering. Especially since I don’t really know the area or will be taking a car.

I didn’t get any notification of what college I was assigned to, but I was still able to find out. On the housing application page, at the far bottom, there’s an “Appeal College assignment” button or something. I clicked on it and found out I was in college nine.

Also, from the housing website:

“In mid-May for new freshmen, and mid-June for new transfer students, the Campus Housing Office will send you a housing packet containing information about your college affiliation and instructions for completing the online housing application process. A space in university housing is guaranteed to all new undergraduate students entering in the fall quarter who submit all forms and required fees by stated deadlines. A specific college assignment or housing option is not guaranteed.”

It doesn’t say anything about the packet being absolutely necessary for completing the application. From what I’ve seen, the online application is fairly straightforwards anyway.

As transfers, is our college affiliation really that important? I know it might have some influence if we want to live in that college in the future, but is that it? Do we still have to take that core class, or is that only for freshman?
