Based on other emails in this thread, it sounded like Freshman application notification this Friday/Sunday, followed notification of Transfer applicants next week, with all notifications ended on Mar. 20?
BTW, what portal email? All we got was the ubiquitous, “What we are doing about the Coronavirus email…” Which every school and public entity is sending right now.
I think this Friday. It’s always on a Friday I thought.
An email around 5:15pm that started, “Thank you for your patience. We will release your admission status no later than March 20. Get ready to view your status on the MyUCSC portal now by logging in and making sure that your UCSC CruzID and CruzID Gold Password work. Your decision will be displayed on the portal through April 30.”
It went on to describe how to use your portal, etc.
It was like this email telling us to access our portal to have information ready. I go to school in the valley and the kids that applied at my school got it all at the same time, so maybe it just hasn’t come yet. Like maybe it went out regionally?
In Nor Cal this email came at 5:25pm
Titled: Reminder: Check Your Access to the UCSC Portal
They are checking to make sure everyone has access to the portal.
My son got this email tonight as well so guessing 3/20 is the outside date but hoping for news sooner! This waiting has been pure torture for both of us.
help i am so stressed! i thought ucsc was a target/safety-ish for me. i am not SUPER overqualified but I think my stats are above average for ucsc:
ACT: 33, weighted 4.14 GPA, 6 AP classes and 4s on almost every exam
i think i had pretty decent essays as well.
ECs: youth and government and had various roles for 3 years, ballet for 13 years, 9 years of piano, volunteer tutoring, TeenLine crisis hotline volunteering, ap scholar w/ distinction, billing secretary job, principals honor roll every year, etc
do you think that bc i haven’t been accepted yet it’s because i’m not considered a high stat student? what is the reason behind some people already being accepted?
i am so scared bc i haven’t been accepted yet and i’m scared that this means no other UC will accept me as the only others i applied to are UCSD, UCB, UCSB, UCD, and UCLA which all have lower acceptance rates/higher stats. do i still have a shot at ucsc/other UCs?
MYUCSC will be unavailable due to system maintenance from 8:00AM to 5:00PM Saturday March 14th.
Checked my portal which had this message. I’m guessing UCSC will probable update either on Sunday March 15th or the Monday after that.
Don’t read too much into these early admits. There could be multiple reasons for these not tied to stats.
Your stats and ECs are excellent. You will get into multiple UCs. Have faith in your self, hang in there. I wish you well.
@veeyes thank you so much i’ve been so worried for the past couple of days
sorry
Has anyone gotten honors or regents notification? Heard a rumor that they sent these with the physical acceptance packages but not sure.
My daughter got physical mail acceptance yesterday for Marine Science Environmental Science In State I’m sorry I don’t know her stats other that over 4.0 gpa. Top of her class.
Any chance decisions come out tmrrw?
I was wondering if the Coronavirus stuff would delay notifications, as it seems like every University is shutting at least its physical doors, but UC Davis sent out notifications yesterday – a day earlier than expected. Today would seem the logical day for UC Santa Cruz, but the fact that someone said that they got a message that the portal would be down for maintenance on Saturday, 3/14, suggests that it will be either Sunday or Monday, I think.
Today or Sunday is best guess.
Note the entire MY UCSC has maintenance tomorrow. Totally unrelated to admissions.
Sunday it is then.
My guess is Monday since Sundays aren’t a typical working day. But maybe they have a computer to generate it?
Hopefully it comes out tomorrow though, since the site is down today.
@Gumbymom you seem very knowledgeable about this whole process… I am new to this and hope you can help(anyone else with knowledge can chime in too ) my daughter was daughter was accepted Into the biomolecular engineering program(soo proud)feb 26th- I don’t see anything under the financial aid package yet the website for the college indicates that will be posted on 23 March… Does that include things like the merit scholarships automatically or does she need to do some thing to apply for those?
TIA for any advice- 1st time college mom here
