Daughter got the email around 3 pm. She hadn’t been checking the portal because she thought today’s decisions would be for freshmen.

Oh ok thanks. Yeah, there was definitely one batch of notification today at 12 or 1230. Emails get sent three hours later and that’s why people find out later. Probably around same time tomorrow again.

Oh that makes sense. It probably was closer to 3pm.

Congrats to her. Is UCSC her first choice?

Hi, she loves the campus but is worried about housing, so UCSC is not her first choice.

y’all think the batches are random? it was so frustrating to wait one singular day, there’s no way i can wait til april😀

Seriously. I don’t think it’s such tall task to notify people what time they’ll be sending out decisions, and what time they will stop. They can post it on their website or social media page.

I agree with you, but there must be a reason for UCSC. There will be so many students who have accepted and are not going, so there will be many complications…

It’s kinda stressful to wait but I don’t mind waiting since I can’t even attend UCSC even if I admitted.
I don’t wanna leave socal just because of UCSC.
Rather apply csulb

Really? Why did you apply? I’m the same way with cal poly, but I was hopeful virtual classes would continue into fall 2021, hence why I applied. But considering my work is work at home for probably the rest of the year, I might be able to live part time in slo and Bay Area, just commute back and forth once a week. I’ll see tho, hope I get Davis and Santa Cruz as other options.

I’m with you. I likely won’t go to sc because I have been admitted to long beach and id prefer to stay in SoCal, but I want to know so I can get a feel of if my UC essays were good because my top picks are UCs down here

Lol a big reason I applied at UCs is to write essays, I sh*t you not. But, like most of your literary work, you love it until you read it over and over and wonder if you did too much. I do a lot of creative writing, and wrote my essays in prose style. Now I’m a little concerned if I sound corny to them haha.

Exactly.
Plus. Uc application fee was free.
If I had to pay for the application fee.
I wouldn’t apply for ucsc

Because I could apply 6 uc schools for free.

It’s nothing like ignore ucsc or anything
It’s just out of interest but I kinda need to know the decision result for other ucs

Im telling honestly just because ucsc seems unfair that they gave announce to some group and not to rest of the people.
