Was wondering what the gym looks like at santa cruz. Is it nice?crappy?

i went to cheer camp there last summer and it was pretty nice.
vague answer lol but it was always really crowded when i went because all the sports teams were training and we did warm ups there all together

great , do they have new equipment? Some more details would be nice :)

I go to the gym consistently 4 times a week at UCSC. I would say it is pretty nice. It is not super big, but it is a good size and most hours you can do your whole routine without waiting for any machine, whether it is dumbells/ weight machines or just cardio.

The equipment is newish. I think early 2000s is when the machines were replaced. The gym itself was built in the late 90s I think. They have any and every machine you could ever want. I would say its an average gym for a UC, but the second floor has a sweet view of Monterey Bay and there are slide doors so the breeze comes in the gym.

is admittance to the gym free for ucsc students?

Yeah its included in your tuition. I absolutely love the gym because it feels soo open and not like a normal gym (I hate working out lol)

Awesome. Do they offer yoga/pilates classes?

^Yes 10 chars.

^10 chars?

Do you have to enroll in a Yoga class or are there free sessions you can attend?

about the first two classes are free. and after that, you have to pay 100 for classes.

which college is the gym nearest to? merrill, porter, oakes, etc…?

It’s closest to Stevenson and Cowell. Like… Right in front of them.
