I'm waitlisted for UCSC but I got into Univ of the Pacific

If UCSC does accept me, which one should I send my SIR to?

I'm majoring in Biological Sciences & I live in the bay area. Distance doesn't matter though.

Also, I know UoP is more expensive (it IS a private school), but other than that, which school is better? Why? Which school has more of a party scene? Basically which school would you go to if you wanted a good college experience + good education

Thanks :]

why would you want to go to a college (UCSC) where your preparation is in the bottom half, or bottom quarter, of the accepted students? Wouldn’t that make it tough to get the grades you need to stay in a hard major like Bio? Trust the adcoms, it might not be a great match for you – unless the finances make it necessary to go to UCSC.

An analogy: suppose you are a Senior and have the opportunity to be a starter and one of the top players in a certain sport, or be a sub, ride the bench, and play maybe 20% of the time in another sport? Where is the better match?

UOP is a better school
