Based off of what I saw, most kids accepted were c/o 2019 or 2020 (so soph or juniors). I think if you take another year to grow your portfolio, you will definitely have a higher chance of getting in next year. @avi-2021
Rejected and I’m a junior
I’m a sophomore and I got in, although I’m honestly very surprised as I didn’t think I would have a chance. Goodluck to any others!
@tofudeer Same! It would be much appreciated if someone could post the chances and stats of getting off the waiting list. Thanks.
I got waitlisted as well. Does anyone happen to know how long we need to wait before the decisions come out?
I’m in boiis!
I got in. How does the research work? Do we just learn about the research project of our mentor or do we get to publish our own research paper and results that can be entered into Science Competitions?
@eduapplication I’m pretty sure both.

Last year’s thread has a story that might be helpful, and you can check out the Kickoff Livestream that UCSC posted on Youtube.
Around how many freshmen made SIP? (for future reference)

I’m on the waitlist,but since the deadline for people who got in to accept was 4/11, and i haven’t been notified about my status. Does this mean I didn’t get off the waitlist or do I need to wait longer?
@astrolakers pm me, I’m out of area
@dogdabber try rosetta biomedical institute!
