<p>Hey everyone!</p>

<p>I haven’t gotten into Irvine yet… but it looks like if I go anywhere, those are my choices… </p>

<p>Which of these colleges has the best English department?</p>

<p>I realize that UC’s aren’t exactly known for their English departments, but of those 4, (and yes, I know CalPoly isn’t a UC but it’s a pretty good CSU) which would be a good bet for an English major like myself?</p>

<p>Current students would be of immense help as well :] but I would gladly welcome anyone’s opinion/advice.</p>

<p>UCI has a strong English department. CP is more for the sciences, as is UCD. UCSC I don't really know that much about, but you should try to stay within the second tier UCs, regardless of major.</p>

<p>I agree with Peppers. UCI has a very strong English/Lit program that is well regarded.</p>

<p>agreed. UCSC has a "literature" major, not an English major. My friend who is a lit major there just took hieroglyphics haha.</p>
