UCSC vs BU

Hi, with about 24 hours remaining, I've narrowed it down to UC Santa Cruz and Boston University.

As a CA resident, UCSC would be a lot cheaper, but I think that the academics at BU are far better. I'm from the beach in Orange County, so I feel like UCSC is too much like home (Being next to the beach -- I'm in a surfing class), which could be a bad thing? Isn't college supposed to be a time to branch out and explore?
I visited SC yesterday, the campus was beautiful but I felt like it was too forest-y for my tastes.

I was at BU around the 23rd for open house, the school was amazing, well-regarded, but I feel like the whole one street campus kind of throws it off.

I am interested in doing some pre-law/business-y kind of thing and I was wondering if you could help me choose between these schools.

I want a school that has great parties, but knows how to study hard too.

Thanks.

Unless you have a full scholarship to BU, being instate for UCSC makes it the best choice.

Let’s say that money is not an issue, BU?

bump up to the top

If money is not an option, I’d go with BU. The UCs are going through massive budget cuts right now so who knows, you may end up graduating in 5 years.

If money is not an issue then I would go to BU, not because of the budget cuts, but it is the better institution overall.

I ended up choosing BU, thanks.
