UCSC vs. CCC to UCSB

I am a California high school senior who was offered admission to UC Santa Cruz but rejected from UC Santa Barbara. My first choice was UCSB because Santa Barbara seems like a really fun and exciting college town to be in. It's right next to the beach, it has that nice SoCal weather, and not to mention that UCSB is a more prestigious school than UCSC. Don't get me wrong, by no means is UCSC a bad school. I just don't feel like I would fit in at UCSC as well as I would at UCSB. I'm not really into the whole counterculture/hippie scene, and the town of Santa Cruz doesn't even come close to Santa Barbara. So now I'm trying to decide whether I should suck it up and attend UCSC for 4 years, or take my chances and attend a CC first to hope to transfer to UCSB later?
