Hey guys! So I recently checked my admission status for UCSC and found out I got put on the waitlist. This really worries me because UCSC is said to be the easiest UC to get into. Even some of my friends who aren’t doing so well got accepted. Does this mean I won’t get accepted into any other UC schools?
My average GPA: 3.8
Current weighted GPA: 4.6
Unweighted: 3.6
SAT: 1700
AP’s: 10
EC: Mentor, tutor, outside volunteer work, president of club, etc.
All Uc’s make decisions separately, don’t get discouraged yet. For example, one UC may get a lot of applicants for a certain major making it harder to get in. Another UC may not get as many making it easier to get in.
Also I got waitlisted also, I was wondering if anyone knew if I accept admission to a CSU, can i take it back.
If you are on a waitlist, you are expected to enroll in another school until you hear back from UCSC. You may forfeit your initial deposit at the CSU if you decide to accept the waitlist spot at UCSC if offered.
@krabbypatty17 the easiest uc to get into, according to the stats, is uc merced. The last 2 years, no one was excepted off the waitlist into santa cruz but the year before those two, everyone was. It really just depends.
As @gumbymom says, Be sure to commit to another school (deposit, housing and all) while you wait for UCSC to make up their mind. Working through the list may take them well into the Summer - past the commit date for most other schools. Cover your base with a plan B.
I hope your plan A works.
I was accepted to UC Davis in March, and was put on the UCSC waitlist as well. Davis had sent me an additional information form to fill out an 18 question long questionnaire (which I think is what got me in.) I submitted an appeal to UC Santa Cruz, as it was my first choice college out of all of them, and was accepted today! Now I have to choose between UCD and UCSC!
Hey, are u guys getting emails letting you know or did u just check ur portal?
