@voyager21

my major is legal studies

psychology -

macrandle, or other psych majors: what were your stats?

Anybody know when is the deadline to send the IGETC certificate to UCSC?

3.6 GPA when I applied … I got a C in HS with a script writing class that was UC Xfer, otherwise it would of been higher

@vodka, do you think igetc cert is included in this?:

Have all official transcripts, including final high school transcript, sent to our office by February 15, 2010. -conditions of admission

@estrellatuya

I’m not really sure. I figure that if I said that I’m done with igetc in my application, the’ll want to see some proof.

BTW, where is the conditions of admission site?

I finally got the good news today :slight_smile: I didn’t get an email, but it was in MyUCSC, so check there if you haven’t yet.

I’m in but I wanna go to SD and I didn’t hear back yet urghhh

are you there vodka? it’s me estrella.

just click Application Status and Info in the portal menu, the link for conditions should be there after you accept.

they don’t really ask for igetc but i’m sure we should send it by february anyway.

oh yeah has anyone tried activating their UCSC CruzID?

Thanks, estrellatuya. (I can’t see the conditions because I didn’t accept yet.)

I got in!!!

[edit] Vodka23, click on application status, then click the link on the bottom (“You got in, what next?” or something to that effect) Click through that page, and on the next page should be your conditions. It’s step 1, so looking at it doesn’t mean you accept the offer, if I’m correct, which I’m fairly sure I am. Read through the stuff though, just in case.

yay empirescrumble :D:D

Anyone see their financial aid award yet?

hey everyone, if you guys need any help from a current UCSC student then feel free to ask.
in regards to the resident colleges, it really only matters if you’re going to live on campus. if you are, there are stereotypes for these colleges which should be noted are just stereotypes but usually hold some truth to it (so don’t take too much in to it)
College 9/10 - Newest, ethnically it’s mostly asian, probably the colleges that are furthest away from the “ucsc=hippie” rep. Choosing this place on the basis it’s new is a pretty bad choice though, cause I lived here and people were not as friendly as other colleges.
Crown - Known as the “nerd” college, but I’ve had friends who love to have a great time by going out and they did it here. Very friendly
Kresge - If you’re into the hippie life style, go for it. Very different here
Porter - Probably where all the ucsc stereotypes started from. Very artsy, “free-willed”, and “different.” People there are very nice and a lot of drug use (can’t really escape that, even at some of the other UCs but moreso here"
Cowell- Very chill, people are very friendly, oldest college
College 8- Athletic-ish, reminds people of UCSB, nice people who like to have a nice time
Oakes - Mostly minorities live here, but they LOVE it there.

Thanks for the info, MidnightGolfer. Is there anything you know now that you WISH you knew when you first started, or when you were getting ready to start?

Voyager, I haven’t seen my financial aid award yet either (but the link for my 2010 financial aid report is active even though there’s no information there), though they have received my FAFSA according the to-do section of MyUCSC, and there aren’t any new to-dos listed regarding financial aid.

I’ve been checking my admission status constantly for the past two weeks and this morning I finally read the wonderful congratulatory letter of acceptance on MyUCSC. I also got in UCSD and I’m still trying to make a solid decision, but I think I’m leaning toward UCSC for a better undergraduate experience. I plan on majoring in Molecular and Cell Biology and maybe Plant Sciences.

Congrats, On Tangent! I don’t know what I would do if I had to wait as long as you did. :)
