This thread is far too calm. The UCLA thread is going crazy. Anyone have any idea on when UCSD is releasing decisions?

Pug what does your full housing message say? Just curious

Both me and my friend got the housing message change to
"
The Housing Application deadline for incoming Transfer students is June 1st. Please note however that this Housing Application site will temporarily be unavailable from April 15th thru April 27th. Please come back between April 28th and June 1st."

last night or today, good sign?

@pug101

My housing message changed to the same thing as well. Anybody else?

Every time someone says their message is changing I die a little inside.

Jetlogic do you still have the old one?

@ goingmeta:

Computer Science is less unit intensive than Comp E or EE. Also for some of the engineering majors UCSD has a bunch of lower division classes that aren’t articulated at CC, so even with all the math, physics and chem there is still a year of lower division work to do. Also I seriously doubt you can get through 20 upper division CSE classes in 4 quarters… even if the course load didn’t kill you pre-requisites/course availability would make it basically impossible.

Here’s the transfer plans for EE and Comp E majors, http://www.ece.ucsd.edu/sites/ece.ucsd.edu/files/ece/assets/docs/ece_4yearplan_10_11_Transfers.pdf

Even with 100% of the pre-reqs done EE and Comp E are 104 and 114 major units respectively AFTER you transfer, and that’s not including the 8-12 units of GE’s that you’re required to take at each college. Compare that to a major like Economics which only requires about 45 units towards the major after transfer and it becomes clear why engineering transfers aren’t expected to be out in 2 years.

And they do recommend 4 classes at a time but NOT 4 engineering/science classes, the recommendation is 3 science and 1 GE per quarter.

my message hasn’t changed ='[[[

Yes I do

Can someone link me to the UCLA thread? I can’t find it :(

@uceric2010
ty for linking those plans. wonder if they have similiar things for my major, aerospace engineering. i noticed that plan doesnt include summer term, so im guessing one can use summer sessions to lessen the work load during regular quarters. 3 major courses in a quarter sounds pretty heavy for me. i had horrible experience last year when i took 3 major courses along with 2labs and 1ge in a semester. im little slow in learning, so i really worried how im gonna survive in uc after i transfer.

@JetLogic

Thanks!

My message hasn’t changed either… :[ I’m losing hope day by day.

I meant 4 quarters with the summer sessions.

And yeah, there are separate requirements for the colleges. If you’re seriously opposed to doing something different, then just take something easy.

Also, like I said, I intend to take 4 classes every quarter and >1 during summer sessions. So even if I was an EE major, I would still be able to finish within 2 years. 8 units in a quarter (EE plan for the following winter)? Seriously? [strike]You can also finish Math 20E at a community college.[/strike]

At this point, I don’t even think there will be a 2nd and 3rd batch. They are likely to release all the decisions by the deadline. Thats a speculation though.

i have another really good question. As u may know im a math major, but I dont know which math i applied too cuz on my uc application it’s just say math. No applied math or econ/math or b.s math. Does anyone know where i can find out which math i applied too. Also im very confused to the different college cuz my first choice was revelle college but i later found out its mostly for bio engineers and people who wants to be a doctor. Does anyone know which college is for math majors specifically?

do you guys think the housing application thing means anything?

It sounds nice

@yowhatup11: It did last year, but everyone is speculating.

based off of one of the emails we got from UCSD like back in january i think or the one that was released in feb, the email said we would be notified by april 30th. im hoping decisions come out before that day…i don’t want to look through my past emails to verify which email it was from…
