the reason i couldn’t log on was because I spelled the name of my city “Los Angeles” on my UC application as “Loa Angeles” omfggg and i just noticed this now and not even during the spring update. i thought i read through my application AT LEAST 50 times but i don’t think it’s that much of a big deal…bbut thanks guys

oh and yeah i got in

muir college
3.5 gpa
poli sci/intn relations
tag for ucsd & ucsb (i thought i did it for irvine but i just checked and i didn’t)
pre reqs/igetc done

Hey i went through this process last year and for those still waiting do not panic at all… ucsd does releases in waves. no one gets denied till the very end. i got in on the 2nd to last batch. So relax and wait most peole who get in a t first are tag even if they dont know it.

a work on the colleges i have friends in ERC who hate life cause of the MMW classes. but all colleges have something you have to do igetc or not. sixth you have to do 2 upperdivision ge classes and most others also require a writing course(upper division).
any way have fun and good luck!!!
im Electrical engineering at sixth in-case anyone cared lol…

ohhh and also there is no point in checking multiple times a day call the office and ask when the next batch will come out and save your self headaches they dont release on a day to day basis : /

Hi everyone, I’m new on CC. Saw this thread and decided to register after lurking for a couple of months.

My application to UCSD is still pending too. It’s really stressing me out because UCSD is my first choice. I got into Riverside and Santa Cruz. Riverside was my backup and SC was like the backup to my backup, lol. But isn’t the notification period from March 15th through May 1st?

Do they give admission in some kinda order or just random? cuz lots of my friends with lower GPA got in and mine is still pending. one of my friends gpa is like 3.07 major in Electrical Engineering n he got in. Also is that you randomly ranked their six colleges gonna affect your admission? im just wondering cuz i had no idea how to rank their colleges at that time.

the rankings mater because some are harder to get into then others… sixth (the newest and hence the no name) is the easiest…
last year batches came out in two to three week increments, if you call and ask they will give you an estimate.

last year people with higher gpa’s kinda got screwed most were accepted into UCLA or Berkeley before ucsd told them if they got in or not. in some cases people with high gpa’s got denied at first then later got accepted.

we all tried a billion guessing games to figure out the order of it all but know that im done with my probability class i can safely say its a totally random process… just relax if you did the work and have earned a spot u will get in…
and if you choose to come you will have the best weather possible for a UC school! plus like 1/2 mile from the beach!

I applied to UCLA, UCI, UCSB, Cal and Stanford. But I got my acceptance to UCSD last week and the more I look into Muir College, the scholarship packet and the whole San Diego area I’m really considering going there no matter where I get into.

I honestly don’t like downtown Berkeley or the campus. LA is cool but not a real community type campus. UCI and UCSB were my fallbacks and there’s no way I’m getting into Stanford.

So idk… it’s becoming a genuinely tough decision.

^ Good call. I hung out on campus today (UCSD) and it was great! Despite the fact that it’s finals week, people were outside, smiling, enjoying the 80 degree weather. I’m almost positive I’ll be going to UCSD, even if I get into LA and/or Berkeley.

I mean most of the ranking have it: Berkeley 18, UCLA 22, UCSD 31. So a whopping 10 places off? Plus rankings mean nothing in comparison to happiness and quality of education. Good on you mate. I’m definitely thinking hard about it.
