UCSD Acceptance

The reason I wasn’t accepted was because UCSD thought I only had 58 units when I really had 61 instead. After speaking to the admissions officer she said I’ll be in once the supervisor looks over the paperwork. YES!!! I feel so much better now.

@hellostranger: yeah I’m about 20 miles north of San Francisco, been waiting a long time to finally go South :D

Dang its like a 2 hour drive for me… Do they have short plane from OC to SD lol :(

So I guess their exact cutoff was 3.23

They didn’t count any spring quarter grades I got, so I had a 3.19 UC GPA.

Oh well. 0.04 GPA difference, wow! Too bad they don’t count what I did get during the 1st quarter, it would’ve been a 3.23 (I told them this and they said nothing). sigh

Edit #3: I called back peeved about this and they said they rejected people that were 0.01 points below the cutoff. I told them why and how I’d appeal and they said they guarantee it’d be rejected anyway.

Anyone that was freaking out faxing their financial aid stuff on Saturday, I was right hahaha. The lady at the financial aid office told me today that the May 1st deadline was only for freshmen and the deadline for sending in any requested forms from the FAO for transfers is JUNE 1st lol

What bugs me, is the 3.23 must’ve been specific for CSE computer engineering/comsci because they accepted a friend of mine with 3.16, no tag, no igetc. (but a different major)

***?

sigh

Did anyone else get in below 3.23? From the impression I gained they did not read the essay nor did they care about the circumstances.

Omggg andy85 :frowning: I THOUGHT I read that on their site BUT also read may first!!! LOL how embarassing of us :stuck_out_tongue: for sending all our crap in early to their office hahaha  well got THAT out of the way! Woot :)

@wwlink i was rejected last friday with a 3.07. i had igetc but failed to check the tag box. yes, i could kick myself in the head right now - i have to wait a whole year and half to attend…

@wildlife- did you have tag? Why don’t u appeal and have ur councelor write up something to prove you do have tag ;O

@nymphz - i do have tag but the admissions office at ucsd told me that i didn’t check the box for it. they told me that the only thing i can do is appeal, but they didn’t seem too hopeful that it would get me anywhere. they also said that once the application has been filled out nothing can be done. i will probably appeal just incase…i am so bummed!!

if you forgot to check the TAG box, appeal.

anyone that feels like they have some legitimate issue on rejection, just appeal, dont listen to those admissions idiots. they tell everyone that its no point in appealing just because they want to limit the number of appeals that come in so its less work for them.

I am beginning to think we should report UCSD’s admissions office to the UC system head. This is the second year in a row they’ve screwed up with TAG applicants and their playing games with the applicants is very rude and undignified.

@nymphz where from the oc are you? Im from costa mesa and i think it’s only going to take me an hour and a half drive to UCSD

Lol I’m from garden grove  I suck at direction so I gave a rough estimate hahaha!!

^lol. Why wont you drive down this saturday? It’s so exciting! Lol

hey, are you guys that are going to transfer admit day going by yourself or with family?

^ I’m going with my Dad

I’ll be there by myself. I basically just want to scoop up some free swag and hear what Jacobs School of Engineering has to say about their program.

I’m going with one of my friends. My parents live in Texas so they aren’t coming lol
