UCSD Acceptance

you’re an idiot, smells. that’s pretty much all that needs to be said

did anyone get in who couldnt register for transfer day?

Rejected!!

3.4 Anthropology major
Tag!!
IGETC completed
66 units

I keep seeing people not really understanding the TAG. You guys that got rejected, met the requirements and filled out the application right should definately raise hell. For those past this, the Guarantee however is to get into UCSD not which of the 6 colleges in particular. So your just not guaranteed your top pick and may get your last pick, but you WILL get one. The major IS guaranteed unless it is an impacted major which are usually some of the engineering majors.

“The major IS guaranteed”

Nowhere in the entire TAG agreement does it say the major is guaranteed. Matter of fact, the exact opposite is stated. I’m guessing that with the increase in applicants this year combined with the addition of out of state spots due to budget issues, there were far more “pinched” majors.

Even if you got denied to an impacted major, I think your still supposed to get in under TAG, just in an alternate major.

I’ve talked with alot of counsellors and reps, it does explicitly say “Admission to a particular major is not guaranteed”, BECAUSE of impacted majors. If there were no impacted majors, it would say the opposite. Or so I’ve been told several times.

@lisc949 are you a Communications major as well in UCSD? I’m definitely giving it a thought! I’m also going to Transfer Admit day. I’m excited about that! :)

But that’s the problem. If you apply for a couple majors and denied for both of them, you’re SOL. UCSD will not admit you as an “undeclared” transfer student.

Accepted!
3.6 urban studies
Thurgood Marshall
tag and igetc complete

but common last day?

Thats the thing, your not supposed to get denied any non-impacted major if you have a TAG.

Think of it this way:
TAG=Guaranteed admittance to UCSD
UCSD will not admit you without a declared major
Therefore in order to fullfill their end of the TAG contract and keep their declared major rule, they have to approve of at least one major for you.

Ive been training for the ucsd surf team for the last year. Ive already *ing paid for a place over the summer in sd. * **** **** **** ****

Im done with college!

i didnt get into ucsd. ffffffffff uuuuuuuuuuuu ccccccccccc kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk!!! im so lost.

i thought it was a sure thing for me.

“Thats the thing, your not supposed to get denied any non-impacted major if you have a TAG.”

That isn’t necessarily true, it’s just a general guideline we all go by. The contract simply says it “does not guarantee a major.” It doesn’t say anything about impacted/non-impacted majors.

@dowork: Oh no! :frowning: Dude where else did you get in? And did you have TAG??

e-mailed admission with my stats 3.2 now, IGETC, and 67 units with TAG. they responded with this:

Dear xxxxx,

We will review your application once again and inform you of your admission status. You may not hear the results of this review for at least one week.

Thank you,
