UCSD Admissions... Point System?

<p>Can somebody please explain how the UCSD Admissions Point System works? I looked at the point breakdown on their website (<a href="http://admissions.ucsd.edu/dev3/info/comreview.html)%5B/url%5D"&gt;http://admissions.ucsd.edu/dev3/info/comreview.html)&lt;/a>, but the process doesn't really make sense to me. </p>

<p>Should the total possible points for "Scores of All Required Exams" be higher since the SAT is out of 2400 instead of 1600 now? 3200 doesn't seem right for the SAT I and two SATII Subject tests.</p>

<p>I'm going to be a senior in the fall, so I'm starting to freak out about the whole college admissions stuff like crazy! Thanks in advance for any help.</p>

<p>Just be sure to have done whole college search and DON'T procrastinate on writing your essays, but I'd say no need to majorly freak out about the deal (yet)!</p>

<p>just take last years point system and add 150 or so to be safe. if youre around the cut or higher you're good 8)</p>

<p>Question 3 on your application -- Where you explain something that has happened where you have not had the oppurtunity to explain anywhere else on this application.</p>

Everyone above that is in? or that's the minimum amount of points needed to get accepted.</p>

<p>however, when i looked at it, i don't see how some applicants with so-so stats got those required 7,465 pts...</p>
