I think it's April 4, 2009. What happens at Admit Day and how do you make the most of it?If it's important to attend then it's time to make travel plans even though decisions aren't even out yet. BTW 2 years ago I took a general campus tour and Admit Day just happened to be at the same time, and frankly from the point of view of an uninvolved bystander it looked crazy and chaotic.

decisions are out by then.
at least it was last year.
it helps those who are deciding between two more schools mostly.
if you've been on a campus tour, then you really don't need to go. because its just a way for admits to get a feel of the campus if they havent been there before. clubs and orgs also flier on library walk the whole day, there are campus tours, residence hall tours, etc.

its not important, harldy anybody i know went to that, and yea, i heard it was chaotic last year too..they just let you roam the campus freely..so dont waste your money..just wait to move-in day

Thanks; I heard you can possibly meet a roommate at admit day. What do you think?

I remember going to Admit Day my year. If anything go to visit the campus and see if you like it more or less than anywhere else. They definitely romanticize the appeal of going here (obviously) so it'd be more to your benefit to come on a typical day of the year, even if it's on a weekend; if anything that would help you learn more about the school. I say this because there seems to be a trend of unhappiness whenever people end up going to a school they don't visit and then complaining about it on the forums.

I went to Admit day, there were a some booths and clubs set up. You can talk to some current students, it was pretty chill, just roam around on your own. forget the tours.

There are also lectures in various lecture halls and classrooms so you can learn more about your major/college/etc. It's not the most important thing to attend, but I went with a bunch of friends, so it wasn't too bad.

I say skip admit day. Nothing feels natural about the campus that day.

Come on a random weekday and you'll get a better feel. I'd be up for giving a quick 60-minute tour of the campus if you decide to drop by.

I agree with oyama

CC private behind the scenes tours =P

Thanks again. VERY helpful. Oyama, what college are you in?

skip it. go to an earlier orientation though. It's helpful to get a head start with all the info they tell you during early orientations

Thanks again. VERY helpful. Oyama, what college are you in?

John Muir.

UCSB's open house and UCSD's Admit day are the same day and those are the two schools I'm currently deciding between. -_-
If Admit day starts at 8:00, is it necessary for me to be on time? I live 3 hours away.

Just throwing it out there, I'd also be willing to give a tour of UCSD if Oyama is unable to do so.

UCLA Engineering Open House is on the same day too!

I've taken tours of the campus already, so I'm not sure if I'll go to admit day. Probably not.
I will re-visit the campus, but on my own time.
