UCSD and textbooks

Hi, I am about to place the order on some books. The shipment is 4-14 days, and I am wondering if I should send it to UCSD or to my home address (in Norcal, which means I would have to get the books sent to SD if they come on the late side). If I sent the books to my UCSD address, will SD send the books back if they come too early? I think it depends on whether the carrier is FedEx or USPS, but I am not too sure. Thanks for all the help!

What do you mean, UCSD might send the books back? This shouldn't be a problem if you live on campus; Mail Services continues to work through vacations and your packages will be held at the distribution center assuming it's successfully delivered.

Another option is to have them sent to a friend of yours who lives off-campus, that way you can get the delivery confirmation without the hassle of getting down to SD yourself.

Props for ordering books online -- I don't think I bought a single book from the bookstore after my freshman year. :)

I thought they send it either back to the sender or to your home address during vacation.

They forward any packages they get over winter break to your home address. Trust me... I got something >_<. If you're ordering from a place like amazon I'd just invest another $5/book to get express shipping to your home.
