UCSD Appeal notification date?

I have already appealed my rejection from UCSD. Does anyone know when/how long it took for people in the past to get their decisions regarding the appeal back? thanks!

My son received his last year in about a week. He did not receive an e-mail or letter. He just happened to check the portal and his status had changed.

Thank you! Did he apply early after he was rejected (like now) or in April?

how do you appeal? I can’t find information

https://students.ucsd.edu/_my_application/_files/Fall-2013/admitfaqtrannrt.pdf

He was actually waitlisted originally and then both appealed AND submitted his waitlist confirmation within a few days of the original decisions. I would not advise waiting. My son’s appeal decision was posted within a week, so he was able to apply for housing as soon as it was available, as well as attend accepted students day (Triton Day). If you wait until April and then are accepted, you will be at the bottom of the housing list and may end up in overflow housing.

Cool thank you. What are the chances I will get in on appeal? I know that they are slim, but I’m hoping it’s possible.

There is no way of knowing. We were shocked that my son’s appeal worked. Good luck!

Would you mind telling me how you appealed for it?

he appealed based on a medical condition which does impact his day to day activities. He had not mentioned it in his original application so it was considered new information.

I also have a question regarding Appealing but in my cas I have been given admission but as an undeclared major. Could I appeal this as I feel I have a lot to offer and have prior experience in my major which is cs. Could this work?

Hey d0, please keep us updated on your appeal status. I plan on appealing as well, what did you discuss on your appeal form?

My appeal worked. I was accepted, but did not get an email notifying me to check, i had to do that myself. I got it exactly one week after I sent my appeal in.

What was your appeal about if you dont mind me asking?
& Congratulations!

Congratulations!!! That was what happened to my son d0k1ing- it took a week and then it was posted but he did not receive an email. He also never got the welcome package that everyone else received in the snail mail. He attended Triton Days but did not receive an invitation- he had to get all of the information from the website. A friend that was accepted but had already decided not to attend gave my son his TritonDay pass, but I don’t think you really need one to attend that Day.

@TheLefty, message me
@takeitallin, thank you. I probably won’t attend Triton Day because it’ll be a far travel. I’m hoping and waiting on that admit package soon!

@d0k1ng, I did!

@dok1ng did you have to submit documentation related to your appeal?

Hi guys, I am currently on the waitlist and am considering sending an appeal. I was just wondering whether my appeal will affect (possibly decrease) my chances of getting in from the waitlist.

It probably won’t affect negatively or positively the status of your wait list.

And no, no documentation needed to submit an appeal
