Rejected from my first choice school.
3.8, 1250, 700, 660, 600. EC's to the max. Communications major, ERC college.

I'm ready to appeal. Does anyone know of anyone who actually got in UCSD with an appeal? What are my chances?

The only basis I have for my appeal are a couple awards from journalism and speech contests, and my efforts in already recieving a summer communcations-related internship. I'm afraid that since there is no significant academic achievement or corrections, they'll just throw my letter aside.

Do you know anyone who got in with an appeal--if so, how?

my jc teacher was telling us a story how some guy who got rejected by ucla but he sent in an appeal but was denied again and then after that he sent in another letter saying, "please reconsider" and lo and behold he entered the mighty gates of ucla.

The thing is, I'm sorry to be pessimistic but don't get your hopes up. Appeals are really hard for top UCs. The avg SAt scores for UCSD is a 1297. You should check out their avgs from those UC handbooks. If you are WELL above the avg, then go for it. IF not, still try but it's most unlikely.

okay, i'm thinking of appealing my winter quarter admissions, but if they accept me into the fall quarter...would that mean I would have to go there? B/C I got into my top 2 choices, ucla and ucsd, and i'm going to visit them in 2 weeks to see where I feel better at, but the thing is i wanna send my letter asap because of the deadline. does anybody know? am i automatically enrolled if they accept my appeal, or do i still get to choose?
