Does anyone know anything about UCSD's baseball team? Do I have to try out on a certain date to make the team? I really want to pitch for us Tritons.
Thanks a bunch ^__^

The title of this thread is an oxymoron.

lmao, I remember someone making a thread about SD raising some fees so it can go to sports teams.

lol wait how is it an oxymoron? XD

I thought an oxymoron was like... "Oh loving hate" "oh burning... cold" lmao

but yeah, when I went to athletics.ucsd.edu or something, they had baseball. Why is it so funny o.o;;

because UCSD and sports dont go together. UCSD is in division 2, SD seriously needs to get some good recruits so they can go up to division 1

but then more fees! :x

haha okay okay I'll admit it, I did hear that UCSD and sports do not go together from a number of my friends that go to UCSD lol.

However, I would still like to try out.

Oh and also, with this D-II (not diablo 2) stuff about UCSD's baseball team... does that mean they kind of "stunk" XD;;

LOL "not diablo 2". It means division 2, which is like saying "second rate" I guess :D

haha yeah I know not d2 lol. Good game though <3

I was just wondering... do you ahve to be scouted for UCSD or can you just tryout?

if you got a glove your on the team...

just kidding...

but seriously....

i heard everyone makes the football team :P

Yeah, like me, 125 pounds and I'll probably make linebacker.

LMFAO HAHAHA to TienIsCoolX's commment

yeah man. Alright welp, wish me luck when I try out for our baseball team guys ^__^

You'll see XD; I just checked our Roster for the Baseball (last years).. and it's 99% white (only 99% because there was this one guy I couldn't tell what the heezee his nationality was). If you see some random Asian guy that makes the team, that's probably me! So say Hi! <3

lol you'll be all easy to spot. "LOOK ITS THEONEZ, THE SLIGHTLY DARKER GUY ON THE TEAM"

Actually, UCSD was nationally ranked this year for baseball in Division II, and recruits many players, (including me), who turned down offers from Division I programs. If you want to make the team, I would suggest e-mailing the coaches and telling them about yourself and that you plan to try-out so they at least have some idea who you are. You can find their e-mail addresses at www.ucsdtritons.com, and then clicking on the link for baseball.

oh siiick man.
How are the starting (and relief) pitchers on our team?

Like specifics so I can see how unqualified I am for the team. ^__^ <3

You must either really love UCSD or got offers from really awful academic schools.

Bump!@@@!!!@@#$%

"You must either really love UCSD or got offers from really awful academic schools."

Sort of. All the offers I got besides UCSD were either not good enough academically (though I would call the schools "mediocre" not "awful") or somewhere I didn't want to go to college.

I don't really know how to answer specifically how good the pitchers are. On their website you can look at stats and under the player bios you can see how good they did in high school.

Dude, if you want to play baseball, try out even if you think you are unqualified. It can't hurt, and it could end up being really cool.

Would you be willing to say where you got offers from? I'm just curious. If not, it's cool.
