UCSD (BE: Bioinformatics) vs. UCI (BME) --> advantages/disadvantages?

I got into UC San Diego for Bioinformatics and UC Irvine for Biomedical Engineering. I wanted to find out more about the two programs.
Can anyone shed some light onto which of these programs would be a better fit for someone who would want to get internships/jobs or other opportunities?
Also, how do the specific classes of each program compare to each other? Would I be missing out on anything by choosing one over the other?
Finally, campus-wise, is UCSD better than UCI or are they nearly the same?

Thanks in advance.

I am in this boat too. Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

@behuman @Bert123 BioInformatics and Biomedical Engineering can lead to two different types of careers. To summarize it quickly, the field of BioInformatics deals with using computers to go through and analyze large amounts of genetic information. Biomedical Engineering on the other hand is a much more broad major, and tends to combine biology with other fields of engineering, which I find to be mostly electrical engineering classes. Long story short, I started my college career wanting to do Bioinformatics. After a lot of research I decided against it, and chose to pursue Biomedical Engineering. A semester later I again switched into Computer Engineering, and hope to minor in biology and hopefully pursue a career in the biomedical field.

Son was also accepted to Johns Hopkins
We’re visiting UCSD for Triton Day, but since we’re staring at OOS tuition, they’re going to have to sell it to us!
