I'm just wondering how difficult it is to get into a bioengineering major at University of California, San Diego. I want to know statistics for academic things like average GPA and SAT scores. I also appreciate any insight or advice from people who were admitted into the UCSD bioengineering major as an undergraduate. Thanks.

Bio_Eng and BME are not too tough, doable. However, once you are able to get in, you need to maintain high GPA in order to further your education into Grad. School. Johns Hopkins Univ (JHU) for example their Grad School is part of Med. School and as you all know that Med. School requirements are very demanding border line ambitious.

My school requires GPA of 3.4 cumulative in order to go to Grad School majoring in BME and if anyone falls below that, they have to do “lots of talking/lobbying”…

I am not trying to scare you or anything like that but you have to find the necessary info before embarking into Bio-Eng or BME. Lastly, if you just stop at BS (undergraduate) then chances are you will not be able to get any good jobs whatsoever.

Thanks. Any more insight?

Bump…

Anyone else?
